Turkish Riviera Holidays
Turkish Riviera holidays give you sun, history and great value.
The Turkish Riviera is Turkey’s Mediterranean coastline – a long, sun-soaked sweep where ancient ruins sit beside budget-friendly All Inclusive resorts. It’s easy to reach from the UK, with direct flights of around four hours. Antalya acts as the main gateway for most travellers. The region stretches from Lara Beach’s resort tip to characterful Side and wallet-friendly Alanya, offering warm seas, historic sights and excellent holiday value.
Kaleiçi in Antalya offers the best free historical activities in the Riviera. Hadrian’s Gate, a 130AD Roman harbour and the iconic Yivli Minaret make a fantastic day trip. Aspendos, around 47km away, is home to one of the world’s best-preserved Roman theatres and is still used for concerts today. Meanwhile, Side, 35km from Aspendos, delivers sunset views at the Temple of Apollo. It's one of the most popular spots for sunset photos in Turkey. Alternatively, for nature-lovers, the dramatic Lower Düden Waterfall drops 40m into the sea, with a free clifftop viewpoint perfect for photos.
Holidays here aren’t complete without a trip to some of the best beaches on the Turkish Riviera. Konyaalti is a long pebble beach with free access, framed by the dramatic backdrop of the Taurus Mountains. On the other side of Antalya, Lara Beach offers fine golden sand, warm shallows and a long, free public stretch that's ideal for first-timers, with the city's popular resort strip lying just behind it. In Alanya, Cleopatra Beach is known for its clear water and easy swimming conditions. According to local legend, this stretch of coast was gifted to the Egyptian queen Cleopatra by her lover Anthony.
Here’s where to base yourself on a holiday to the Turkish Riviera.
Lara Beach is the Turkish Riviera's most convenient resort area. With a sandy beach and huge All Inclusive hotels, it’s just a 15- to 20-minute transfer from Antalya Airport.

Here are some top tips from our team
“One of my favourite day trips from Antalya was Termessos. Set high in the Taurus Mountains, the ancient city is surrounded by cedar trees and feels really untouched. The views alone are worth the journey, but the history and peaceful setting make it even more special.” – Penny Tetlow
Çıralı is a conservation-zone beach backed by orange groves, around 90 minutes southwest of Antalya. It’s quiet, natural and protected, a complete contrast to the resort strips.
Antalya’s Karaalioğlu Park is a shaded clifftop garden overlooking the Mediterranean, with sweeping Taurus Mountain views and the Roman Hıdırlık Tower.
The best time to visit the Turkish Riviera is May to June and September to October for warm Mediterranean weather, calmer beaches and clearer seas. July to August is the hottest, but also the busiest. Spring and autumn give you the best balance of value, weather and price.
Turkey’s Riviera offers good value for money, especially at larger All Inclusive resorts with comprehensive facilities and competitive pricing compared to Greece and Spain.
Alanya holidays are popular, despite requiring a two-hour drive from the airport. It’s the farthest Turkish Riviera holiday destination from the airport but offers some of the best-value All Inclusive resorts.
Yes, the Riviera is very family-friendly, especially for package holidays in Antalya, Lara Beach, Side and Alanya. Resorts offer kids’ clubs, waterparks, calm beaches, and All Inclusive dining.
Antalya is a big city with a mix of resorts. It’s best for convenient trips, museums, nightlife and easy airport transfers. Side is the most characterful of the three areas, with ancient ruins in town and sandy beaches on both sides. Alanya is the best value of the Turkish Riviera, as a lively beach town with a longer airport transfer and access to the much-loved Cleopatra Beach.
