Location is great, hotel not so much
Firstly, the location of this hotel is great- so close to the beach and loads of nice restaurants. The hotel however…the pool was nice and a good size. Plenty of sunbeds and no mad rush in the mornings. There are not enough parasols for each bed but that didn’t matter too much when we went- the wind was so strong, the parasols blew over frequently anyway so a lot of people ended up putting them down! The wind was very strong, just due to location and it was like sitting in a windstorm at times! Room- we self catered and we are a family of 5. It was disappointing that the only place we could sit and eat was on the balcony where there were only 4 chairs! We had to keep taking an indoor chair outside and when I asked at reception for another chair (the room advertised said it could occupy up to 6), was told, no we couldn’t have another one. There was also not enough cutlery or crockery for 5 of us to actually eat together! I think when we arrived, there were 3 forks, 4 spoons and 2 knives, then 3 bowls and 3 plates! It was a mishmash. We had a large balcony although our ‘pool view’ wasn’t really a pool view- it was a view of some sorting of playing area/storage area and a staircase to the next block. We didn’t think much of it, until the day we came to have lunch (again on the balcony) and food 10+adults playing shooting at the end of our balcony- apparently the storage area was the adult games area- literally at the other side of our balcony wall! We had to wait for them to finish their game so we could use our own balcony and sit and eat! The maintenance of the room wasn’t brilliant- the air con leaked all over the floor one night so we woke to a massive pool of water by the bed. My son also dropped a plate by accident and there was no broom (not even a dustpan and brush) to clean up so we had to vacate the room and wait for a cleaning lady (about half an hour) to come and sweep it so we didn’t get shards of crockery in the kids feet- it’s not a big thing but for self catering, this is the first place where there has been no means of even sweeping up! Atmosphere, there was some entertainment on 3 nights (we were there for 8 nights) but this was limited. The acts were good but the crowd was thin and it didn’t start until 9.30 which was quite late for families- otherwise it was karaoke which wasn’t the best. Kids club- the staff were great and the kids had a good time. Overall, we had a good holiday but it’s not a hotel we would return to or recommend.
