About the hotel

This hotel’s set just outside the city, so you’ve got a more relaxed, resort-style base rather than a central riad stay – but it’s close enough to dip into Marrakech when you want. It’s built around a big, All Inclusive setup, with a focus on entertainment and variety. Rooms are simple and practical, but the main draw here is the scale of the facilities.

There are multiple pools and a large waterpark with slides and splash zones, plus sports courts, fitness areas and a full entertainment programme running through the day and into the evening. Dining is covered with buffet-style restaurants and bars, keeping things easy. This place is perfect if you want a fun, activity-packed base and you’re not planning to spend all your time exploring the city.

What’s the closest town to AQI Aqua Mirage? The closest major hub is Marrakech city centre. You’ll need transport to get there, but it’s close enough for day or evening trips to explore souks, restaurants and attractions.

How far is AQI Aqua Mirage from the airport? The hotel is about a 25-minute drive from Marrakech airport.

Are there any places of interest near AQI Aqua Mirage?

  • Jemaa el-Fnaa – roughly 20–25 minutes away by car, the main square for street food and nightlife.
  • Atlas Mountains excursions – available from the area for daytrips.
  • Golf courses and desert-style landscapes – close by for outdoor activities.

Smooth Holiday

We had an excellent stay at Aqua Mirage Hotel and would happily return. We booked the full board package, and the food exceeded our expectations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all tasty, with a good variety of options each day, so there was always something for everyone to enjoy. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day, and the entire hotel was kept spotless, making it a very relaxing place to stay. One of the highlights of our holiday was the friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone we met, from the security team and reception staff to the cleaners, kitchen staff, and the animation team, was polite, hardworking, and always happy to help. Their excellent service really made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel's water park was fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip. There were plenty of slides and pools to keep both adults and children entertained, making it great fun for the whole family. We also really enjoyed the evening entertainment, which was varied, fun, and a great way to end each day. If you're planning to visit Jemaa el-Fnaa, it's easy to get there from the hotel. A taxi costs around **150 dirhams one way**, or you can use the hotel's shuttle bus, which costs **30 dirhams per person each way**. The shuttle is a convenient and more affordable option if you want to explore Marrakech. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Aqua Mirage Hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and family-friendly holiday with great food, excellent facilities, and outstanding staff. We would definitely stay here again.

Good experience could be better with some minor improvements.

We stayed here in July 2026 for a week, looked great from the pictures. And only a 25min drive from airport. We arrived about 1pm after starting our journey at 2am. Reception wasnt particularly busy but appeared to only have 1 member of staff checking people in and so we had a very long wait. We already knew about tourist tax, but was told we could either wait until 3pm or pay to enter the resort and use the facilities ahead of then. In total 1100 dirham was handed over so we could use the hotel ahead of our 3pm checkin and cover the tourist tax. We knew towels were extra so took our own. The main pool was rammed every day, with sunbeds "booked" with towels on them by 8.30am. Im assuming this is because this pool had a bar serving alcohol. The other pools didnt. This pool also had entertainment like volley ball & inflatables etc. The AQUA PARC was great, loads of pools for all ages, water was usually about 28 degrees so nice & warm. The wave pool was a firm favourite and the "secret pool" which was a new 30m pool at the back of the aqua park, which tended to be quieter. Lots of lifeguards around, all friendly and doing their jobs rather than chatting up girls. The Aqua Parc bar only had soft drinks. The bee/wasp issue was mainly around this bar where they were attracted to soft drinks. The further you moved away from this, the less bees were around. It was not really an issue for us once we realised this. The issue with the Aqua Parc is that we soon realised it was open to the public also, and over the weekend it was absolutely rammed, you couldnt move in the wave pool or secret pool. The Aqua Parc had a snack lunch which was pizza/sandwich/salad/dessert but as they only had 1 staff serving the queue for this was crazy. It would have been quicker to walk to the main restaurant which is what we ended up doing each day. The main restaurant was always busy and whilst staff were quick on clearing tables up they were exceptionally slow at setting them out again so we had to do this ourselves most of the time with knife/forks etc. 95% of the drink machines in the restaurant were closed off and there was never enough glasses/cups. The coffee machine in the restaurant was only available for breakfast! The food was hot and tasty, the beef was amazing, there was a good selection of food, pasta, chips, chicken nuggets, pizza, rice, veg, salads etc. However it was pretty much identical every lunch & dinner and so you soon got bored with it. We had no issues with sickness etc. If you sat inside near the outside doors to the BBQ then you got smoked out. All staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean although looking a bit dated with cracked tiles etc. The biggest issue I found was there appeared to be a big shortage of staff. Whether it was the sports bar, the aqua bar, the main bar or the pool bar, there was only 1 barstaff serving most of the time, resulting in big queues. Usually 10 deep or more during off peak times and double that in peak times. The pool bar had draft beer, but after a hard day playing in the hot sun (38 to 44 degrees when we were there), it was quite disappointing to queue for 30mins at the main bar or sports bar in order to get a 250ml bottle of warm beer. Mixers like pepsi were also kept out of the fridge so if you didnt fancy a warm beer you could have a warm pepsi instead. Sure there was ice, but it melted immediately in the room temperature drinks. During peak times, the main bar queue split into 2 with 2 bar staff. But the speed of barmen varied a lot, with one queue i was in one night taking 3 times as long as the queue next to me, 45mins of queuing for me, only to be told I could only take 3 drinks when there were 5 of us. The main bar, sports bar, and outside bar were all large and could easily handle double or more barstaff. As a plus point the bar staff were friendly and not shy on the measures when it came to spirits. Whilst the spirits were not "brand names" they were actually really nice drinks so we were happy. The main bar had coffee and soft drink machines so kids or non-alcohol drinkers could help themselves without any queuing issues. Another point we were surprised to find was this was the first all inclusive place we had visited where there wasnt "help yourself" wine & beer on tap at the pool area or in the restaurant. This would have solved a lot of the previous issues. Also, amazingly ice cream was not included. Our kids live on the all-included ice cream when we are holiday but here you were looking at 30 dirham (£2.50 so not too bad) per ice cream. There was ice cream in the restaurant but this was carefully dished out by a waiter to ensure noone had more than 1 scoop each. Amazing I found the same one day with the mashed potatoes & brocolli! They were carefully scooped out rather than help yourself as if they were gold! I appreciate the place is a 3 star, but the above items were minor things which could easily be fixed to improve your stay. All in all a mixed experience. I enjoyed the stay. Had I read the above before booking I would probably have not, baring in mind how much we paid for the week. If it was half the price then id happily come back again! Top tip - sports bar opens at 6pm and is completely dead. So if you want to get served quick go there. Likewise, with the length of the main bar queues in the evenings, it was nearly always quicker to walk to the sports bar and get served there, then walk back with your drinks.

Not the worst but not the best.

We have just returned from our stay and, overall, we had a nice holiday, but unfortunately there were quite a few issues that would stop us from returning. The hotel itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The gardens and greenery are lovely, and you can see the staff work hard to keep the grounds looking nice. There is also plenty for children to do, and the animation team deserve a special mention. They were incredibly friendly, energetic and fantastic with the kids. The evening entertainment was also brilliant and something we looked forward to each night. The water park was absolutely fantastic, the slides themselves were incredible and we all had so much fun there. Bartenders in the main pool area are wonderful. However, there are several areas that really need improving. The floor tiles throughout the hotel are in a poor state and could do with a complete overhaul, as many are uneven or damaged. Meal times were by far the most stressful part of the holiday. The restaurant felt like absolute chaos every day. It was overcrowded, people were pushing to get food, there was rarely anywhere to sit, and there never seemed to be enough glasses or cutlery available. Sadly, I spent the last three days of our holiday unwell with a poorly stomach, While it’s impossible to know the exact cause, it was concerning how many people appeared to have similar symptoms. The hygiene around the food preparation also raised concerns. The chicken was cooked fresh in front of guests, which was great to see, but on several occasions the chef used the same tongs to handle raw chicken before using those same tongs to serve cooked chicken. This is a basic food safety issue that really needs addressing. The waterpark pools, particularly the wave pool, were another huge disappointment. The water looked dirty throughout our stay and wasn’t somewhere we felt comfortable spending much time. The wasps were honestly unbearable. You couldn’t leave a drink unattended for more than a few seconds without 10–15 wasps swarming around it. Unfortunately, our daughter was also stung during our stay. One thing that really stood out was the difference in how British guests appeared to be treated at the waterpark and the main entrance compared with local guests. At the snack bars, we were repeatedly told we could only take one item each, which would have been completely understandable if the rule was applied consistently. However, we watched local guests leave with multiple sandwiches and several desserts without being challenged, which left us feeling that the rules were not being applied equally. The queues to get a drink at night was ridiculous, if you’re someone looking to get pissed think again. Good luck getting more than 2/3 drinks a night, and when it’s served the drinks are hot. WiFi is horrific so either get an e sim or head back to the stone age for a week or two. For us it was great we spent more time together as a family. Overall, the hotel has so much potential. It is a beautiful resort with excellent entertainment and fantastic facilities for children, but the issues with cleanliness, food hygiene, overcrowding at meal times and inconsistent guest treatment outweighed the positives for us. It certainly wasn’t the worst hotel we’ve stayed in, but it was far from the best, and unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to return.
