The worst holiday hotel experience ever

Location is ok if you don’t mind steep hills, there is No entertainment apart from Dartboard hanging from a tree for one hour during our stay, No music at all the only music playing in the whole week was by my phone so zero entertainment at all the food is repetitive if you like Goat, pork, rabbit. And it’s a very small banquet you probably get more choice with a school dinner. Rooms are out of date with no air-conditioning our room was above the kitchen. So woken up at 4 am with staff banging pots and pans security light flashing on and off in our room open our door and then opposite was the staff room where they were in and out with trolleys at the bottom of our stairs, the kitchen stores so staff was in and out of there we couldn’t keep our door open due to no air-conditioning because of the smells coming from vents hanging out the kitchen windows and smoking area we removed after three days complaining to easyJet to another room which apparently was an upgrade to only find urine stains all over the mattress. You are guaranteed to get a sun Lounger as nobody stayed on site there are no entertainment teams when you check into the hotel it worries you when the reception asks if you stayed here before you say no and they say best of luck then and laugh. Tennis was out of the question as there was a Eden hotel tournaments going on throughout the whole week from morning to evening 95% of all drinks you had to pay for on the all-inclusive. There was little choice. The cocktails were made so strong that it was undrinkable the snack bar states it closes at 9:30 and we were always taking a drink back to our room on the evening and on the last evening they refuses a hot drink saying that it is closed so the all inclusive is not worth what it is they were building Work going on and we were forced to sit in this when they decided to close the pool bar so that was great if you want a alcohol drink with your food you are welcomed with a waiter slamming a drink down on the table I’m walking off with an attitude. During meal times they put lots of bottles of water out trying to push you to drink water on an all inclusive which saves them money talking to other people. They say the same that it was the worst holiday they’ve ever booked and we’re going back to complaining to their companies. We have complained ourselves and got a good partial refund. I’ll book this holiday going on reviews from TripAdvisor, but I believe these cannot all be true because it was a holiday from hell and we want you to return after two days. You have been warned.

NO GLUTEN FREE OR EVEN TAKEN SERIOUSLY!

We have just returned from 9 days staying at this hotel. Very basic. Rooms are ok, very dated. Hotel grounds are lovely, although limited to some areas due to on going renovations. We paid for half board, breakfast and dinner, (although my teenage sons got told one morning they are only allowed to eat once a day on day 5 of the holiday!). The food was diabolical. Bland, sometimes grey looking. The entire restaurant was in chaos each morning and evening, no real system in place for guests, felt a little like a cattle market! No where to sit as large group (there were 8 of us in total). Tables where geared up for either 2 or 4 people so often, unless we got lucky and found two 4 tables, we all ate separately in groups of 4 or 2!. Now this is the bit that was unreal. My 10 year old daughter is coeliac, quite severely,. Absolutely not geared up for GF AT ALL. Some of the food was GF but cross contamination was a bit problem. When we spoke to the waiter/Manager about this issue, you got a distinct feeling you were being 'problematic'. I think they 'eye roll' from one of the Managers led indeed contributed to that feeling! (Who the hell 'eyes rolls' when you query a severe allergic reaction)! This poor kid pretty much lived off the odd bit of melon, salad leaves, cucumber and basic scraps! Untill I eventually (and mean 'eventually' found a supermarket that sold the basics of GF food so I could cook for her). NOTE: Tenerife as a hole does not cater well for GF, including in the south of Tenerife. We found the a mix bag when it came to the staff. Some where nice, friendly, others, one in particular, and older waiter, shouted at people. Brisk, rude, down right un courteous. Lastly, shower in room 512 on the 5th floods like a bugger if you leave the shower running for more than 2 minutes ( as we discovered) .. oh and on day 8 the sliding patio door handle came off in my hand as I tried to open it! Thus, no more balcony time! On a serious note. If you have a severe allergy I tolorence, then Tenerife, my lovelies is not for you!

Book with caution! Not a 4* hotel at all

We chose this hotel as we wanted a relaxing holiday after a family bereavement, and this hotel looked beautiful and away from the noise of the resort, but close enough to visit regularly. We were very wrong. We had an email before we traveled saying that there was work being completed on the kitchens, but that they would be completed by 30th June, which was the day after we arrived, so didn't worry too much about this. The work was not completed by that date and was not even completed by the time we left. My teenager's had a room which overloooked this work, meaning that they could not use the balcony as it was too noisy. We had the pleasure of being woken up each morning by a large rock breaker, clearing rocks and debris from the rainwater collection channel that runs through the grounds and between the two buildings. This was right outside the window of the restaurant, and meant that we ate our breakfast to the sound of rocks being broken and the incessant beeping of the vehicle. The hotel was described as having 3 pools. These are not all availabel for use by all as the rooftop pool on the 9th floor is actually a nudist pool, accessed via a code from reception. The pool bar on the 5th floor was closed , as ws the bar on the 9th floor and the bar at the pool in the Luz building was open, but did not do any snacks as advertised. The buffet was mediocre. It was mainly the same foods each meal, not much for vegetarians, and not very fresh. I notice that a few people have said they had food poisoning. This does not surprise me at all. The restaurant was dated, (as was the whole hotel) and needed a good clean on the lights and ceiling. The lift felt like it would break down at any minute, was often commandeered by staff to take things up or down floors, and stopping guests from using them. My 78 year old father had to carry his large case up 4 floors as the lift was stopped on the 5th floor by staff. The hallways were like something from the 1970s and a great deal of the grounds were barricaded off due to the work being completed. Whether due to the rennovations or just lack of care, there was not much to do at the hotel. The bars were hit and miss, the bar on the 5th floor of the Luz building closing for functions and expecting guests to move to the other building on the 9th floor, when the grounds are extremely hilly and for those with any mobility issues, this would be difficult. Finally, we were told that the hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the town. Note that this stops all afternoon for siesta and if you get the morning bus down, you will have to wait until after 4pm to return. This made the hotel feel even more isolated as taxis would ramp the price up at this time of day. This could be an amazing hotel, but it's run without care for the guests or the want to be the 4* hotel it claims to be. At the minute I would rate it as a 2*.
