Peaceful, beautiful place to stay

This is a beautiful place to stay but quiet and a bit remote, if you like that sort of thing this is ideal. We ended up hiring a car for the week as we weren’t expecting to not be able to walk anywhere. There are no shops in walking distance and no places on site to buy provisions. We loved the food in the evenings, all low carb but you can always order a side of chips etc if you wanted. Breakfast was very limited so if you are used to all inclusive this would not be the place for you. Santorini is beautiful and most places take a maximum of 20 mins to get to in the car. The main tourist places like Oia and Fira which are not far at all can get hectic, but are a must see, it was lovely to come back to the resort for some peace and quiet to chill out. We had a suite with a plunge pool which was perfect and clean. I will say it can get windy and our terrace seemed to be facing it at times. Staff are absolutely brilliant and helpful, I would recommend if you want a peaceful chilled out place to stay.

Palm Island Suites - Family of 4

Just returned from a fantastic week at Palm Island Suites, family of four. We normally visit larger/luxury all-inclusive hotels, but there aren’t many options in Santorini so took a chance with Palm Island Suites with half board. We weren’t sure what to expect - but can confirm it was worth the gamble. Stayed in 2no. 1 bedroom suites which were spacious and comfortable. Hotel was modern, and had a lovely feel to it. Pool was great and we often had it to ourselves as other suites had their own plunge pools. Breakfast was small but had all the options you would expect. Food in the evening was also fantastic, and we managed to eat there all week. Cocktails were beautiful too. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and really made us feel relaxed and looked after. Views were amazing from the pool and restaurant area and we found ourselves staring out to sea all week. The location isn’t really in Imerovigli, and is quite isolated without any shops at all within walking distance. Ubers are very expensive on the island, so would suggest bringing drinks/snacks etc. yourself or picking up items on day trips as we did. If you like getting out and about we would recommend budgeting for taxis or hiring a car/quad - there is plenty of parking on site. This wasn’t a problem for us as we like lazing around the pool all day and had pre-arranged day trips to break things up. Our only suggestion for improvement is that hotel provided tea and coffee - there was a kettle in the room but didn’t supply provisions which we found a little strange. Overall a really fantastic holiday - very glad we took a risk with half board at Palms Island Suites, and would have no problem recommending.

Nice Suites, beautiful grounds. But we will try a different hotel next time we visit Santorini

Yesterday my partner and I returned from a 5 night stay at Palm Island Suites. We stayed in a Senior Suite and we were mostly very happy with our stay. Our room had a mini bar in the bathroom, bit of a strange place for a mini bar but at least we had one. The mini bar was not stocked at all on our stay. There is no in room dining here and the only drinks available are from the small bar near reception. There is no safe in the rooms so we had to take our money and passports out with us every time we went somewhere. We went out to the supermarket in Fira on our first day and stocked up so were okay in that sense, however we felt a stocked up mini bar or room service option would have made our stay that bit more luxurious. The maids only change the towels every other day, but they do clean the room daily. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We hired a car on day one as there is nothing around. It would have taken around an hour to walk to the nearest shops, restaurants etc so be aware of this when booking. We were however in easy reaching distance from Oia and Fira. The area the suites are in also has some beautiful restaurants. But all are accessible only by car from Palm Island Suites. Taxis are very expensive, we paid 40 euros one day after we gave our hire car back from Fira to the suites, which is about 10 mins by car. The food in Palm Island Suites is okay, though the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is very small. Cocktails are reasonably priced and very nice. Our pool was not heated in the room, which wasn’t too bad with it being July. However, I wouldn’t want to get in it towards the end of season, October, as it would be way too cold. Overall, I would recommend the suites for someone very happy to totally switch off. However, we found much nicer alternatives closer to everything. So if we were to return to Santorini, which we absolutely plan on doing, we will be staying somewhere different. That’s not to say we didn’t enjoy our stay there, we just didn’t quite get the full luxury experience we were hoping for.
