My Dream Hotel

I booked this hotel and then read the reviews ( yeah I know what your thinking ) I am currently laid at the side of the pool writing this thinking how anybody found anything negative to say about this hotel It’s clean, beds are comfy, staff are amazing and go above & beyond yes the breakfast is not a full English but it’s not England so try something new or pop across the road to no name bar where u will find amazing food and lovely staff The location of the hotel is perfect for the beach and the strip as it’s bang in the middle of both my honest review is I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends and would 100% stay here again!! Don’t let any of the negative reviews bother you just come and have an amazing holiday!!

My Dream Hotel is a budget, family run hotel located just two minute walk from a sandy beach. It is about a 45 minute walk to Marmaris town centre or a convenient 10 minute journey by dolmus (a shared public minibus) which is very affordable at around 44 TRY (approximately £0.70, based on a rate of 62.3 TRY to the pound via Monzo) The area where the hotel is situated tends to attract mainly Northern English tourists and many nearby restaurants cater to this market offering mostly cheap fast food. In contrast, Marmaris centre (the harbour area) is more upmarket with a wider mix of Turkish, Russian, and Arab visitors. The restaurants, bars, and cafes there offer higher quality food reflected in the clientele they attract The staff experience at My Dream Hotel is mixed. Two young boys who support their family along with the cleaner were by far the most helpful and friendly members of staff despite speaking very little English. Nehir, the receptionist is also welcoming and has good interpersonal skills. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were often unfriendly and there was a noticeable lack of consistency in both housekeeping and hotel policies For example, I was once refused water by a staff member (who typically works behind the pool bar and rarely smiles) who claimed water was only available during breakfast, however on previous days other staff had provided bottled water and even encouraged guests to help themselves from the breakfast room dispenser I also had a poor experience with another receptionist (a heavily built man with tattoos) When I asked the day before checkout about extending my checkout stay until later that afternoon he immediately said “no, we are fully booked” without even checking my room details. Later that day after a shift change I overheard another receptionist offering another guest the option to extend their checkout (12–4 for £20 or 12–8 for £40). This same tattooed receptionist also appeared selective in who he chose to interact with during my seven day stay There was also an incident one night where a fight broke out, the police were called and a guest had to go to hospital. The following day staff were openly discussing the situation with other guests which showed a lack of professionalism, confidentiality, and basic etiquette The cleaning staff, although not English speaking were exceptionally friendly and always smiling. I tipped the cleaner 1000 TRY simply for her kindness and approachability. I would have liked to tip the two young workers as well as they were very hardworking and helpful but I was concerned the money might not reach them directly and end up in the wrong hands Marmaris itself is a beautiful destination that caters to all types of travellers so I would not let this experience put you off visiting. However, based on my experience I would recommend avoiding this particular hotel for the reasons outlined above
