Cheap but not so cheerful
We were disappointed with our room. When we checked in the floor was filthy and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. The bed was very firm and we only had one pillow. We asked reception twice to give us more pillows and they never arrived. WiFi in our room was non existent and the TV wasn't tuned in properly to any channels. The remote only worked after we messed about with it. Air con in the room was only ok, even on the coldest setting it barely changed the temperature. We had a 'garden view' room which basically had a tatty, dirty balcony overlooking the restaurant roof and the backs of some buildings. Staff are mixed. The cleaners and entertainment teams are very friendly but pretty much everyone working in the restaurants were unfriendly, and not very helpful. Every time we went for a meal we had to track down a waiter to ask for drinks and sometimes even knives and forks. Food was bad, especially breakfast. Everything was greasy, cheap and bland. After a couple of days of long queues to get terrible food we spent the last few days eating out. I waited half an hour at the pasta station because the chefs are so slow and blatantly can't be bothered. The pool area is good, with plenty of beds and a pool bar to get beer or some terrible, sweet nuclear coloured soft drinks. There is no air con inside most of the hotel, which was a problem as the temperatures were as high at 46 degrees during our stay. The animation staff were very friendly and fun to chat to. They tried to get us involved in activities and spent time chatting to us. Overall, if you want a cheap hotel to bring kids and just relax all day this might be ok. But with pretty much nothing to do outside of the hotel and with the terrible food we couldn't wait to get home, we even tried to find an earlier flight to swap but there wasn't any.
