Hotel animation team are fantastic and really made this holiday perfect.
we stayed as a Family of 4, Kayleigh, Ryan , Daisy (4) and Elijah (2) Service ★★★★★ So where to start, we arrived to the hotel and the room was not set up for a family of 4 , one bed (twins pushed together) no sofa etc, this was extremely quickly resolved and we were moved to a room with a double bed set up for our children. GREAT SERVICE! our daughter was on antibiotics, on arrival we were told there was not fridges allocated in the rooms however we could leave the antibiotic at reception in their fridge, we did this. when we were leaving reception we were told that they would try and source us a fridge to keep the antibiotic handy, reception did just this .. again GREAT SERVICE Location ★★★ Hotel is rather isolated, there is a small amount of things around within walking distance however not a great deal - we were fully aware of this when booking though, there's some shops, pharmacy and the beach all within 15/20 minutes walk, the overall walk isn't too bad but the walk to the beach is hilly so prepare for this. Atmosphere ★★★★★ The Animation team were beyond FANTASTIC!!!! there were 5 members and from what we could tell each member had their strong suits, considering when we stayed the team was very new to working with one another you really wouldn't know this (The longest serving animation member was 2 years then each person after her ranged from a month and a half to two weeks! a very fresh team) JENNIFER - Animation team lead, great all round arranging activities, brilliant with the children, energetic you can see how much dedication she has to the job. Daisy loved her and SARA. SARA Amazing with the children, Our daughter Daisy was obsessed, looked for Sara daily was very upset when she had days off haha. Sara really made our childrens holiday special, nothing was too much to ask. JESUS - again another staff member who was great with children , Jesus and sara had amazing skill when it came to the childrens entertainment and mini disco really energetic and kept the children involved and engaged, Jesus was also very good with the athletic / yoga / aqua gym activities. SABRINA - Aqua Gym / exercise queen! just watching Sabrina made me tired, she was continually moving getting everyone involved, at one point the speaker she was using died, so she held her phone to her ear to see what part of the song was on and continued to do the aqua gym while intermittently singing the parts of the song, everyone still continued the activity and had a great time! DORIAN - we did not see a lot of Dorian however when we did he was always very smiley interacting with hotel guests, Dorian seemed to engage well with teenagers. We stayed for the first foam pool party that the hotel has hosted it was amazing, everyone appeared to enjoy this. Room ★★★★ rooms were ample in space, maybe slightly dated but always clean enough, I think that room keeping would sometimes skim over a room as I don't think our bathroom was wiped down often however toilet roll and wash supplies were plentiful. Food ★★★ I feel buffet style / all you can eat are very repetitive. there was hot meals, grilled foods, salads, cheese/meat selections, desserts, bread and soups so plenty of choices. All food which I tried had a nice flavour, but there was no consistency - one week you would have churros every day then the next week you would have them twice but 5 days between servings, the young chef needs a bit of practice with service as he was very slow to cook anything like eggs where he would make maybe 6/8 at a time but the other staff made a whole hotplate full to keep service running smoothly. ample choices however food could be kept warmer as some days it was luke warm no matter what time you went to food service. We stayed whilst the transition to pierre vacances was taking place, small changes such as cast iron skillets/ pans for foods etc were taking place so i hope this helps, we found all food services much better to attend at the start of service, always more relaxing. Cleanliness ★★★★★ overall cleanliness was very good, the rooms could require more attention on some days as specified but they were always clean, the pool area is clean too, its a windy island so if people are lazy and don't take their paper cups or plates to a bin (there are plenty around) the pool area can look unloved, but thats just guests being lazy in my opinion. the hotel try very hard to maintain the cleanliness of the poolside, at each and every exit of the pool area there was recyclable bins for you to put your plastic cups to be washed, along with liquid bins for any excess fluid, and the normal rubbish bins, they also maintain the pool area washing it down and squeegeeing every day, the external area around the hotel is dusty/sandy so this is no small feat. one thing I did notice which I have never seen at a hotel is the pool have their chemical levels tested 2/3 times a day every day, these levels are wrote on the board at then stairwell on the way to the restaurant. the pool is cleaned, and hoovered daily. Noise level ★★★★★ we stayed during the world cup, great atmosphere throughout and never too noisy, the bar was alive when a goal was scored but other than that very chilled and minimal noise where our room was located. amenities - There's a football court, a squash court, a small gym, a childrens' play park, animation team area inclusive of mini club, office and ping pong, along with games machines, snooker/pool and various areas that the animation team used for activities such as French bowls, darts etc. The pictures of the children's pool depict a Shade sail - this is no longer in place so please don't assume it is there from the pictures you see and book depending on this being there The weather was fantastic and the whole pool area got sunshine pretty much all day. We would return to this hotel, for the price we paid its hard to find fault at all. we had a great experience. once we worked out how to catch the appropriate lifts to get back to our room it was great our 2 year old did not appreciate all the steps before we worked this out. (there are sooooooo many steps) My recommendations would be - more sun loungers some are either broken or very tired, and in reality there is not enough some days for the amount of guests in the hotel however we always managed to find a seat/lounger. the umbrellas are a very sorry state (most of them work okay they're just dirty) and could really do with being updated, some of these look very grubby, I appreciate the area around the hotel may be very barron so this contributes to their visual dirty look. fridges as a standard in the rooms, cold drinks are nice when you're in a hot country - many people i feel would pay to have the use of a fridge in their room. Thanks for a great stay Kayleigh, Ryan, Daisy & Elijah.
