Disappointing visit
Our holiday got off to a poor start when we were dropped off by EasyJet at around midnight some distance from the apartments. We spent almost an hour walking around trying to find them before some kind local residents eventually showed us where they were. To make matters worse, we had received no arrival instructions beforehand and had no idea how to access the property. We eventually found a phone number on the gate and had to ring to gain entry. The apartment itself was very clean, and the beds were comfortable, which meant we all slept well. We did see a couple of cockroaches during our stay, but we understand that can happen in Lanzarote and it wasn’t our main concern. The biggest disappointment was the size. There were four of us staying, but the apartment and especially the outdoor area were far too small. The patio only had two sunbeds, and even with just those there, the space felt very cramped. It certainly wasn’t suitable for four adults to relax comfortably. The apartments are also advertised in a way that suggests they are close to the beach, but they are definitely not beachfront. It took us around 20 minutes to walk to the beach. On one occasion we asked for a taxi because we had two ladies in their 70s with us, but the person we believe was the owner almost scoffed and replied, “It’s only 15 minutes away.” We found this response quite dismissive and unhelpful. Customer service was disappointing overall. We often had to ask the same questions more than once, and there was very little information provided either before or during our stay. Inside the apartment there were no instructions about how to use the air conditioning, where to dispose of rubbish, or any information about local amenities or recommendations. One member of staff, Beki, was an exception. She was super helpful whenever we dealt with her, and we really appreciated her friendly attitude and willingness to help. Another downside was that there was no maid service at all during our stay, so the beds were never changed and there was no freshening up of the apartment. Overall, while the apartment was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and Beki was excellent, the lack of communication, disappointing customer service, misleading expectations about the location, and the very limited space meant this was not the relaxing holiday accommodation we had hoped for. Unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again.
