Fergus Club Pineda Splash

We arrived as a family of 7 on Thursday 16th July for a 7 night stay. Upon arrival there was an unusual smell in reception that was rather unpleasant. We obviously had to check in but the receptionist said that our rooms wouldn't be ready till 3 o'clock despite other people who arrived at the same time of us getting access to their rooms instantly. Also whilst entering reception the floor was incredibly wet caused by children running through the hotel reception soaked. Rooms: We booked a Deluxe Quadruple room however upon entry it was far from it, there was no dressing table in the room, but one chair in the corner? There was very little storage space causing difficulty when unpacking, we had to leave a lot of our clothes in the suitcases, Despite being a family of 4 there was only 2 chairs on the balcony that was provided. The bathroom was quite poor as the shower was covered in mould as well as around the edging of the shower base. Every day the cleaners would enter putting new bedding on for you, but the supposedly clean bedding was extremely stained. For a deluxe quadruple room this was disappointing. skirting boards throughout could have done with a lick of paint also. Food: We booked all inclusive and to be honest the food was average as there would always be pizza ,chips , pasta as expected but sometimes the food would be cold. One main issue was when I was choosing our food, some of the food had flies on. Also the hotel has a snack bar which is basically the left overs from the meal before and the food is always cold. I reiterate again this is suppose to be a 4 star accommodation, Also there was a lack of deserts which is unusual for an all inclusive hotel, very limited indeed. Pools: The only reason this hotel was given 4 stars was due to the 3 pools the hotel possesses. One pool has multiple slides and a mini waterpark for younger kids. On the other side of the hotel there is a bigger pool where people queue to get sunbeds from 10am. We spent most of the time around the pool with slides but had to be up early to put towels down as people were putting towels down from 6 am!. Also there is a designated adult pool but there was always children in it. Entertainment: When I was reading the reviews, the overall vibe of the entertainment team was excellent. Through the day the entertainment team were non existent and there were no daytime activities. On a night time the entertainment was extremely good organising certain events. Overall I wouldn't return to this hotel as I've been to better 3 star hotels and how this hotel was given a 4 star rating I don't know, but if you come with younger children the pool with slides they will enjoy but it does not take away the cons of this hotel, overall disappointed.

We visited for 5 nights with 2 kids aged 7 and 10. The splash park was a hit as was the arcade and gaming room. There were activities during the day as well. The kids loved it. We were all inclusive and the food was fine, always pretty of choice and always something for my fussy kids. The rooms were quite small and there was a lack of storage but we were barely in there. The pools opened at different times and people were queuing for sunbeds before they opened and people did reserve them for hours before arriving but we always managed to get a couple of sunbeds whenever we went. All in all for the money we paid it was a great holiday. It is a very busy hotel and mealtimes were sometimes hard work. The train station is very close if you wanted to go to Barcelona. The staff worked very hard but sometimes I felt there weren’t enough staff due to queues at the bar and having to clear tables myself to sit at. The entertainment staff were great especially with the kids and there were lifeguards at 2 of the pools. If you are looking for all inclusive for the family with plenty going on for the kids I would recommend. If you have no kids I’d probably steer clear. I would visit again with my family.
