Not what we expected
Travelled on 6 April 2026
Not a perfect experience We had a very disappointing stay. The male receptionist showed poor hospitality. Our “sea view” was completely blocked by a large tree, which felt misleading. The bathroom was in poor condition, with broken shower doors, and parts of the fridge were also damaged. However, the worst issue was the strong, unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The cleaning was also very poor. The kitchen and bathroom were not cleaned at all—only the bed was made. The hotel stated that cleaning would be provided for five days, but we only received it once, and only after we had to actively look for the cleaner ourselves. The hotel charged extra cash fees for basic amenities like pool towels, wifi and the use of hammocks. When we raised these concerns, despite the hotel not being fully booked, the receptionist responded by yelling at us and saying it would cost €60 to change rooms. Not ok.
Sooo relaxing

Simple but clean apartments. Supernice seeview. Nice food and breakfast. Pool area is supernice!! And during our visit almost empty. For a week of relax. This is 10/10. If you are looking for a party both the hotel and playa del cura is 1/10😄.
Great view and friendly atmosphere

Very nice hotel, at the top of one of the many hills, at the Island. The uphill hotel is a nice place to relax, and enjoy and spend time, but also for a base, if you want to see the Island. Dont panic about the uphill place, since there is an elevator to take you to the reception, but also to your level of room, when you've checked in. The reception is the first spot to stop, and the staff is very friendly, just like all the other people there, including the cleaning team. They are always smiling and give you a nice service. Our room was always clean and comfy. No problem there. You will always find friendly staff, who will help or guide you, if you need anything og have a question. Sometimes there was a small amount of waiting time at the reception, som maybe an extra staff member would be great now and then. just like the rooms, the whole hotel seemed very nice and clean at all places, except the restaurant, who could be a step better. The cups and glasses was not cleaned good enough, and we looked at several cup and glasses, before finding a clean one. The breakfast wasn't that great, but it was included with our stay, but you can buy this as an add-on, if you want. I think, I would buy something at the local supermercado SPAR instead. At the 14 days stay there, the breakfast was good though at least two days! We wasn't even there more than half of the days, since the cleaning was terrible! These two days the breakfast was great, the rest wasn't. I think there was another chef at work these days? But yeah, nothing special. The food at the restaurant and the snack offered at the pool area is great though, but from 2023 to 2024, the staff was a bit different in mind, and the service was 3/6 I think. At least there was a smile, but the waiting time was long, when you wanted a nice icecoffe or something else. The year before (2023) the service at the pool area was superb! But please step up at the cleaning in the restaurants cups and wash section, and the breakfast buffet! It's a shame! But overall, a nice and quiet hotel, who has a nice familiar look and atmosphere, and that's why we came back. The view from the rooms are special. Just love it, from the morning breaks, until the night take over. I can sit and watch all day, and always something to see and empty you mind. Great! So lovely rooms, and balcony air most of the rooms. This year we had one of the top rooms, the premier room, but for the price, you should consider, if you want the lower levels? Up to you. But you get an extraordinary view. There are many stairs up, but nothing for a healthy soul. If you need an umbrella for the balcony, you need to pay. That includes towels, for the pool too, but that's absolutely fair. The rooms are much the same in my eyes, from lower level to this one at the top section. it's a little 80/90's in the rooms interior, but enjoyed both stays, and its still lovely. The small kitchen is also lovely, and there is a fridge, coffeemaker, etc. Good thing. There is a private section around the pool included in the price, when you rent the upper level apartments. Nothing special though. We didn't use it. But there was free towels included in the room, and they could be picked up, at the reception. My minds, always thing of using the towels more than one time! The hotel ask you too, and that's great. We need to take care of the globe. The staff and the view, plus the pool area did it! Not the cups, plates, and glasses and breakfast...
Wonderful Surprise!

The apartment is very good value for the money, and in my opinion has the best position in the surrounding canyon for views, privacy and for catching the daytime and evening sun. The location is convenient and free parking nearby is abundant. Playa del Cura and nearby Playa de Tauro are idyllic--quiet, uncrowded and perfect for swimming. After driving almost all around Gran Canaria we are sure CuraSol is one of the best located hotels we saw, where you can have a relaxing vacation minus all of the overcommercialization and noise of Puerto Rico, Maspalomas or Playa Del Ingles. However, even though it is quiet, there are still excellent restaurants near to the hotel, and walking distance on the coastal path to Amadores and in Puerto Rico. We especially liked Jardin Italian and Guantanamo, both a short walk away. We had an excellent room on the top floor with a private balcony as per our request, and we enjoyed spending late afternoons and evenings after exploring on the wonderful balcony watching the magnificent sunsets. This is not a luxury accomodation, but we found it surprisingly comfortable and charming--it greatly exceeded our expectations in many ways and was very clean throughout our stay. A few things that should be mentioned however that might make a stay here even better: our espresso coffee maker was broken, and the filter coffee maker in some of the pictures on booking.com has been removed from the room. We ended up life-hacking a solution for coffee with help from a 99 cent strainer from the nearby SPAR grocery store. The included breakfast was also not a favorite--next time we will try to stay without breakfast and just make it in the room as SPAR has everything you need. But, we travel often, and seldom do we make plans to return to a particular hotel or location, and this time my partner and I both agreed we would love to return soon to CuraSol (especially to the same room) :). The staff also gifted us some yummy Christmas cookies and sparkling wine on Christmas, which was super cute! As a last thought, this hotel is definitely quirky, with a vintage vibe, but we really loved that about it. It is unique, and if you have stayed in pansions or small family hotels in Europe, I think you will also love Curasol as much as we did!
Nice place with exellent emploies

We have stayed at Curasol many times during the last years. This year we stay 4 weeks. No aircondition. Does not matter! All the rest is superb. All the employes are very polite and kindly. We will come back next year, and the years after!
