Carlton Capri

Gem for anyone who wants to avoid the typical Venetian struggle of dragging heavy luggage over endless bridges. Just a 5-minute walk from both the Train Station, the location was perfect. It’s tucked away in a quiet little side street, so you get a great night's sleep, but you can still walk to the main sights or catch a water bus easily. The rooms have a lovely, old-school Venetian feel, and the staff were welcoming.

Perfect experience, very easy to connect to the airport via bus in just 30 mins, very nice reception and very nice rooms.

From the airport bus drop-off point we walked over two small bridges then a short way to find Hotel Carlton Capri. Reception let us check in early which was appreciated. Room 208, superior double. I’d hate to see the grade below this one… it’s only 17msq, not charming but has a window with a view that lets you feel like you’re in Italy. Not really Very Chic material but that’s who we booked it through. One queen and one single bed really cramped the already small room. Both beds had bedspreads; fortunately the sheets below were white, clean and crisp with comfortable pillows. Queen bed was firm and comfortable. There is a small desk with chair and mini fridge, small arm chair, closet with hangers and blankets and two bedside tables. The bathroom is small but functional with good water pressure and hot water. There is no air circulation in the room this time of year and when we left the window slightly open while out for dinner, a dozen mosquitoes moved in and made themselves at home.... There is little sound proofing in this hotel from within or out. Bring earplugs. The breakfast buffet which runs 7-10am is well presented, extensive and tasty, staff are friendly.
