Great staff and beautiful views

My family and I stayed in room 7 for a week from June 20th. The views from each room in the hotel are breathtaking. The friendly team of staff really makes this hotel very special. We were welcomed to the hotel by Kyriakos who explained everything about the hotel and the island, its main attractions and the best way to see them. This was great advice! We managed to get to enjoy everything that this beautiful island has to offer. The hotel offers daily transfers to Fira and Perissa (the black beach) the hotel offers complimentary towels on these journeys. The breakfast each morning was outstanding, this can be delivered to your room at a chosen time, or you can eat this in the room next to the pool. We preferred to eat next to the pool so that we could chat to Andreas and his team. A special mention for Andreas, he is very friendly and a wonderful cook. Most mornings he would bake us a special treat. Touches like this made our stay extra special! The pool area is very clean with comfortable seating and although it is only small it never felt too busy. There is also a well stocked out gym that has fantastic views. The village of Megalochori is a 10 minute walk from the hotel along a traffic free path recommended by Kyriakos. There are also bus stops to the rest of the island along the same route. Megalochori is quieter than Fira with a few nice restaurants and shops. I would recommend sitting in the village square eating an ice cream from Mr Scoop. My favourite restaurant in the village was Steki Souvvlaki & More. One morning we made a very early trip to Oia to beet the crowds. As well as arranging our taxi, the team also put together breakfast bags for us to take. This was a nice touch. There is a large supermarket less than a kilometre from the hotel, however the walk here is not safe due to the lack of pavement on the road. Staff from the hotel will kindly give you a lift here and take you back. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a perfect break in Santorini.

Caldera dolphin views and service

From the moment we arrived, Caldera Dolphin exceeded every expectation. We stayed in the Junior Deluxe Suite, and the views were simply breathtaking—panoramic caldera sunsets that felt like a private show each evening. The service was impeccable: warm, friendly, and genuinely personal. Superb staff who even remembered my wife’s birthday, surprising her with Prosecco and cake. The suite was spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The team went above and beyond to accommodate every request, always with a smile and a “nothing is too much trouble” attitude. Breakfast was another highlight—fresh, varied, and thoughtfully catered to all tastes, served in a serene setting with views that made every morning magical. The grounds were immaculate, adding to the peaceful, luxurious atmosphere. A brilliant place that blends Stunning scenery and excellent hospitality, Caldera Dolphin is it. We left feeling truly cared and look forward to going again.

Peaceful, serene setting; great room and service; close to Megalochori in centre of the island.

Excellent hotel for couples who are not on a tight budget. We had a great stay and would definitely come back. Located a 5 min walk from Megalochori village and centrally located about 10-15 min drive from Fira or the airport. They use a driver service which is generally 20-30€ each way to various destinations. Renting a car would be cheaper if you are making multiple trips per day. The hotel is immaculate and well maintained. It is located on the cliff edge of the Caldera and the sunsets are spectacular (we didn't bother going to Oia to see them). The location is very safe and quiet. The room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. As with all locations in Santorini, the tap water is salty and hard overall so soap and shampoo don't go very far. They provide some bottled water but you would be best to get a few 1.5 L bottles and keep one in the room fridge at all times. The housekeeping was thorough, usually done while we were at breakfast. There is a pool and lounge area, which are nice but we were out and about too much to use them. Breakfast is included, but is à la carte and ordered the night before with a time that you specify. This allows the kitchen to prepare things for you without delays. The food was excellent, a typical range of things you might see at a European hotel breakfast buffet, but prepared individually and served to you at table or in your room if you prefer. Other meals can be arranged but we didn't try them. Staff are friendly and helpful. They offered recommendations for restaurants within walking distance that were reliable. It is a small hotel, and over 4 nights we got to know almost everyone. Sebastian at the desk and the chef (name forgotten, sorry!) in particular were great to deal with. A very minor suggestion: although walking to Megalochori is possible via a foot path that avoids the main road entirely, there are several paths or back roads that could be taken. It was not clear to us at first which one to take and we ended up going much further than we needed to. The correct path comes off the driveway to the hotel right next to where you turn from the main road. Although this was described to us, having a small printed map would have avoided some confusion. This issue did not detract at all from our experience.
