Do not stay here - they don't care and it's not luxury

I booked 4 nights at this hotel for 3 Days of Design - June 9-13. Hotel rates in CPH are going up quickly (during the fair), just as they have done for many years in Milan for Salone del Mobile. I was excited to find this hotel, so conveniently located in the heart of the city. 3DD requires a lot of walking, so this was ideal. Photos online made the hotel look modern and nicely designed. DO NOT STAY HERE. The rooms stink and the corridors stink. I paid for a larger room - we are in 408. Our bed is up against the elevator shaft, and we can hear it literally every time it is called. There is old carpet in the room - wall to wall - and it stinks. The vanity in the bathroom is not even 12" deep - it's puzzling why you would put in such a small vanity when there's room for more depth. The faux marble tile in the bathroom looks permanently dirty - which means they've not been cleaning it properly for a long time. It's now almost midnight. When we checked in (around 3:30 pm), we noticed that the AC was not on. When we left the hotel to walk around, we asked for it to be turned on. We came back at a late hour from dinner, and the room was still hot. Apparently the front desk doesn't know what the issue is. We are now having to sleep with our patio doors wide open and it's still hot in the room. This also means we won't be able to sleep in because the sun will wake us, as will the morning commuters. So very disappointed with this hotel - it's about $750 USD per night and definitely not worth that. Update: we're now back in NYC and I wanted to update everyone that the experience at the hotel got even worse. We had to follow up with the hotel several times about the AC being broken. When we got to our hotel the second night, it still had not been fixed. We had to sleep with our windows wide open - however, there was a party in the lobby that went until midnight! Our windows opened into a light well that amplified all of the noise. I put my eyeshades and ear plugs on and went to bed after midnight when the noise died down. Shortly after 6 am, we hear glass bottles clanking and voices of hotel staff - hotel deliveries had begun. I went to the front desk to ask them if they could please ask them to keep the noise down - he said he would. I went back upstairs and nothing had changed - so I'm embarrassed to say I actually had to yell down at the staff from my room to keep the noise down. One of the staff looked up at me and then looked at his watch, as if to say 'it's late enough in the day to make this much noise'! We asked if we could move rooms. That day I got an email at 1:45 pm saying that they could move me but I had to move out by 2:30 pm. I saw the email at 2 pm, meaning I had 30 min to move and I was on the other side of the city! I said we would take a taxi immediately back and to please not touch our things (normally in a 5 star hotel I wouldn't have a problem but I didn't honestly trust them to take good care with our things). We got back at 2:30 and housekeeping was already there cleaning up!! Since we were moved to a smaller room, I asked if there would be an adjustment to my room rate. They said they would give me a one time deduction of 700 DKK ($100 USD). When my rate is $750 per night for 4 nights, that seems like why even bother - well, I've now been back to NYC for 5 days and I have yet to see that refund. I emailed them about it yesterday - no response. I see that there are other frustrated travelers, all within the past week or so. I don't know what's going on with this hotel, but the staff are so inexperienced and don't know what they're doing (when we left the hotel on Saturday morning, the kid at the desk said 'you're all checked out' - without doing anything! How did he even know what room we were in?). This is by no means a luxury hotel.

Disappointing Experience for a 5-Star Hotel

⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Experience for a 5-Star Hotel Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet the standards expected from a five-star property. The welcome was cold and unprofessional. We were simply given a key and sent to our room, with no explanation of the hotel or its services. The room and bed were much smaller than expected, and the overall experience lacked hospitality and attention to detail. We were also charged for three breakfasts that we never consumed, which could have been avoided with better communication. Despite acknowledging several shortcomings, the hotel offered no meaningful solution. Overall, a disappointing experience and far below five-star standards.

The brand it empty

"Herman K was not as expected. They market themselves as a luxury brand, but unfortunately, they don't live up to it." "It begins at check-in, where we were greeted by a staff member who appeared to be entirely inexperienced. When I mentioned that the in-room safe was out of order, they failed to understand that the batteries were dead—leaving me to help them resolve the issue. While some might consider this trivial, I find it frustrating to waste time on such matters. Furthermore, the breakfast is not a buffet; only three options are included, while the rest come at an additional cost. Unfortunately, this is not a hotel I can recommend."
