Delayed flights
If you need proof of a flight delay for an insurance claim, contact your airline directly. They're the only ones who can provide the official confirmation your insurer will accept.
When you get in touch, let them know you need delay documentation for an insurance claim. They'll usually ask for your booking reference and flight details.
You'll find contact details for your airline on our airline partner page.
Most airlines can send this by email, though response times vary depending on the airline. If your claim has a deadline, it's worth mentioning that when you contact them.

If your flight was delayed by more than three hours, or your flight was cancelled, you may be entitled to compensation under EU rules (EC261/2004).
These claims are handled directly by the airline you flew with, not by us. You can find details on how to contact your airline on our airline partner page.
What affects your claim
Your eligibility depends on:
Length of the delay
Distance travelled
Cause of the disruption
Airlines aren’t required to pay compensation if the delay was due to circumstances outside their control, like severe weather or air traffic restrictions.
