Costa Dorada Holidays

Includes mandatory fees and taxes
Algarve coastline with turquoise sea, sandy beach and white resort apartments on the cliffs, showcasing value holidays by the Portuguese coast.

Costa Dorada holidays come complete with long sandy beaches, easy-access resorts and one of Spain’s biggest theme parks.

Coast built for easy beach days

This stretch of Catalonia is designed with straightforward seaside breaks in mind. Resorts like Salou, Cambrils and La Pineda sit close together, so it’s easy to move between them. You’ve also got wide, sandy beaches along the coast, with Barcelona and Tarragona close enough for daytrips if you want a change of scene.

Salou for lively stays

Salou is the busiest resort on the Costa Dorada and works well if you want a mix of beach time and evenings out. There are two main beaches with plenty of facilities, plus smaller coves around Cap de Salou if you prefer something quieter. Restaurants, bars and nightlife are all within strolling distance, and there’s plenty of choice when it comes to hotels.

La Pineda for a slower pace

La Pineda keeps things more low-key. Its Blue Flag beach is wide and easy to access, with shallow water that suits families. Aquopolis waterpark is close by for something different during the day, and there are a handful of bars and clubs if you want a night out without staying somewhere too busy.

PortAventura World

Costa Dorada isn’t just about downtime. PortAventura World sits between Salou and La Pineda and is one of Europe’s biggest theme parks. Expect fast rollercoasters, themed areas, shows and on-site hotels. It’s one of the main reasons people choose this part of Spain, especially if you’re travelling with children or want to mix beach days with something more active.

PortAventura is located between Salou and La Pineda, so it’s easy to reach by bus, taxi or even on foot from some hotels. Many holiday providers also offer shuttle services. If you’re staying in Tarragona or Cambrils, short bus or taxi journeys are the simplest option

Yes, especially Salou and La Pineda – beaches are sandy with shallow water, and there’s a range of family-friendly hotels and attractions, including waterparks and theme parks. Facilities like promenades, playgrounds and easy transport help make things straightforward

Restaurants are relatively relaxed in Costa Dorada and tipping isn’t mandatory, although it’s common to round up the bill or leave around 5-10% for good service. Some places may include a small cover charge for bread or table service, so it’s worth checking menus before ordering.
