This island has plenty of sights to explore, from historic towns to quieter natural spots.

• Dalt Vila –

  Step into the historic heart of Ibiza Town in its UNESCO-protected old quarter. You’ll see Renaissance-era buildings, cobbled streets and a cathedral set high above the town, with the port below. There are small boutiques, local art galleries and several viewpoints looking out across the Mediterranean.

• Ibiza Town –

  The island’s main cultural centre. Vara de Rey is a good spot for boutique shopping and relaxed cafés serving tapas, while the marina is lined with yachts and smart bars. The calendar also includes seasonal events, such as the Medieval Festival, which celebrates Ibiza’s long history.

• Time and Space –

  Created by artist Andrew Rogers, this large-scale art installation sits on the southwest coast. Often called the Stonehenge of Ibiza, the stone circle is designed to align with the summer solstice. Many people come here for sunset views or quiet moments on the clifftop.

• Cova de Can Marca –

  A natural cave system estimated to be over 100,000 years old, near Puerto San Miguel. Once used by smugglers, the caves are now open to visitors and known for their stalactites, stalagmites and underground lakes.

Shopping

Here are the island’s best spots for some retail therapy.

• Ibiza Town –

  The main shopping streets of Vara del Rey and Rosello have familiar brands like Mango and Zara, housed in historic buildings along leafy tree-lined avenues.

• Hippy markets –

  Ibiza’s markets have been a big part of the creative community since the 1960s. Las Dalias Market is popular, but the Punta Arabi Hippy Market in Es Caná is the original hippy market – and the biggest – with over 200 stalls. You can buy handmade crafts like jewellery, art and clothes, as well as street food and fresh drinks. Go in the evenings for live music, performances and a chilled atmosphere.

• Marina Botafoch –

  If you like the finer things, visit this modern shopping district where you’ll find high-end designer shops like Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent.

Beaches

Ibiza’s beaches are known for their white sand and calm waters.

• Playa d’en Bossa –

  The island's longest beach – and the busiest. The sand is lined with bars and clubs, so you can top up your tan right next to the action.

• Cala Jondal –

  Ibiza’s most glamorous beach. It’s a favourite with famous people thanks to its exclusive feel and secluded setting. They’ll probably be sipping cocktails in Blue Marlin beach club.

• Las Salinas –

  This beach is full of natural beauty. It’s located at the southern tip of the island in Ses Salines Natural Park, it’s known for its golden sand and clear, shallow water.

• Cala Tarida –

  A family-friendly beach on Ibiza's west coast. It’s a more peaceful option if you want to avoid the island's livelier resorts. But it still has all the handy facilities you need for a full day on the sand. The beach is known for being clean and well-maintained, and the water is shallow until quite far out, so it’s ideal for little ones.

• Boat tour with tapas, bar and watersports –

• Ibiza opening parties, May-June –

  These events mark the start of the summer clubbing season and are a big draw for music fans. Major venues such as Pacha, Ushuaïa, Amnesia and Hï Ibiza host famous DJs and attract visitors from across Europe and beyond. Demand is high at this time of year, so planning and booking ahead is a sensible move.

• Patron Saint festivals –

  Every town on the island celebrates its own patron saint with a mix of tradition and local festivities. Daytime usually includes parades, Ball Pagès folk dancing, food stalls and craft markets, followed by live music and fireworks in the evening. These festivals run throughout the year, with Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni de Portmany typically hosting theirs in July and August.

• Ibiza Gay Pride, June –

  Ibiza has long been a welcoming destination for the LGBTQIA+ community, and Pride reflects that history. Events include a parade through Ibiza Town, drag shows, beach gatherings and live performances from international artists. It’s open, inclusive and well attended by both the community and allies.

• Ibiza Marathon, April –

  A popular spring marathon that attracts runners from around the world thanks to its scenic route. The course passes along coastal roads, through villages and countryside, with celebrations at the finish line. Even if you are not taking part, it’s a lively time to be on the island.

Lively locations

There isn’t just one lively resort in Ibiza… different parts of the island offer different styles of nightlife, so you can choose what suits your plans and your budget.

• Playa d'en Bossa –

  Ibiza’s best-known party area, with beachfront clubs, higher-end hotels and a reputation for long nights, including well-established venues such as

  Ushuaïa,  and Hï Ibiza.

• San Antonio –

  On the west coast, San Antonio is known for its sunsets, best enjoyed from the bars along the Sunset Strip, including Café Mambo and Café del Mar. Expect relaxed music and drinks early on, followed by clubs such as Eden, Es Paradis and Ibiza Rocks as the evening rolls on.

• Ibiza Town –

• San Rafael –

  Away from the coast, San Rafael looks like a small, traditional village, but it’s home to some of Ibiza’s biggest clubs. Venues like Amnesia have helped shape the island’s electronic music scene for decades, drawing people in from all over the world.

• Superclubs –

  There are clubs, and then there are Ibiza’s superclubs. These large, multi-room venues are built for big nights, with high-quality sound systems, strong visuals and space to move between different rooms and styles.

  Amnesia and Hï Ibiza are two of the most famous names, and a good option if you want to see Ibiza’s nightlife at its best.

• Beach clubs –

  If you prefer day parties to nightlife, Ibiza has plenty to offer. Beach clubs such as Blue Marlin, Nikki Beach and O Beach combine music, food and drinks right by the sea, often with pools close to the DJ area.

• Boat parties –

  Ibiza’s parties aren’t restricted to dry land. Boat parties let you take in coastal views while sailing along the shoreline, with a DJ playing on board and drinks typically included. Most trips also stop for a swim, and you can choose between a daytime cruise or a sunset sailing.

• Bars –

  Whether you want a quiet drink, a cocktail or somewhere with a bit of atmosphere, Ibiza’s bar scene covers all bases. Relaxed beach bars are easy to find across the island, with well-known spots like

Bus

Getting around Ibiza is straightforward on a budget. Buses run regularly, are low-cost and connect most towns with beaches, the airport and other key spots. In peak season, services usually operate from around 7.30am until midnight, which covers most plans without needing a car.

Discobus

If you’re out after the last standard bus, there’s still a budget-friendly option. During peak season, the Discobus runs late at night, linking the main clubs and nightlife areas with the larger resorts, so you can get back without relying on a taxi.

Taxi

Taxis are easy to find across the island and work well for short, one-off trips, especially if you’re travelling with luggage. If you do need one, the TaxiClick app lets you book ahead and see the fare in advance, which helps with budgeting.

Car hire

Hiring a car gives you the most freedom, letting you explore Ibiza in your own time and reach quieter spots away from the main resorts. Booking ahead usually means better value, especially in the summer months.
